IC 108: High Tibial Osteotomy: How to Get it Right and Avoid Complications (Case based lecture)
Course Description:
This course will look at several case-based lectures including:
Preoperative planning, traditional method, isolated high tibial osteotomy (Dr. Seth Sherman)Understanding Complications and Avoiding them in HTO (Dr. Anil Ranawat)Complex Tibial Osteotomies (Dr. Al Getgood)Combined Tibial Femoral Osteotomies (Dr. Armando Vidal)
This course will review knee mal alignment with a special focus on osteotomy tips and common complications. Indications for these osteotomies such as how to avoid hinge fracture and properly manipulate slope will be discussed. The problems and pearls of each complication will be examined in a case-based discussion with special attention to preoperative planning and complex cases. Surgical techniques for osteotomies will be presented in case-based format.
