IC 208: Everything You Need to Know to Perform Successful Shoulder Arthroplasty: Preoperative Planning, TSA, RTSA and Revision Arthroplasty

Course Description:

The purpose of this ICL is to walk the audience through successfully planning and executing a TSA and RTSA. We will discuss preoperative planning, how to determine which patients would benefit from a TSA vs. RTSA, how to perform a successful TSA, how to perform a successful RTSA. We will also briefly discuss revision shoulder arthroplasty. Finally, we will discuss several cases and ask for audience participation in working through each case.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants should:
  • Understand the benefits of preoperative planning for shoulder arthroplasty and how to do this.
  • Understand the proper indications for TSA and RTSA.
  • Learn essential tips and tricks to make TSA and RTSA procedures go smoothly and obtain reliable outcomes.
  • Learn the pearls of an expert shoulder surgeon and how he deals with complications during revision shoulder surgery.
