The American Journal of Sports Medicine is proud to present the next installment in the American Journal of Sports Medicine Webinar series: “Psychological aspects of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and return to play”

It is important to consider psychological recovery alongside physical recovery following anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury as negative psychological responses have been shown to adversely affect rehabilitation and return to sport outcomes. Despite an increasing awareness of the importance of psychological recovery, many questions remain unanswered, and addressing psychological concerns can be complex. The multidisciplinary faculty of this AJSM live webinar includes Britton Brewer PhD (USA), Shelby Baez PhD, ATC (USA), Melissa Christino MD (USA), Julian Feller MD (Australia) and will be moderated by Kate Webster PhD (Australia).

The aim of the webinar is to discuss the psychological challenges of returning an athlete back to sport following ACL injury. We explore the challenges faced during rehabilitation, the role of psychological interventions, issues related to younger athletes, and management decisions regarding referral to psychological services. Join our expert faculty and learn from their experience regarding these important issues.
