Information
Osteotomies Around the Knee
Surgical Skills Masters Course Event Recording

From Ligament Insufficiency to Cartilage / Meniscus Pathologies and Arthritis

AOSSM and ISAKOS provide a global perspective on osteotomies. This masters-level course recording is designed for surgeons who have experience with the procedure and are looking for a greater understanding of lower limb alignment and how it may be altered to improve patient function. The course will demystify the technique of realignment osteotomy, providing attendees with a clear rationale and practical treatment algorithm to address a variety of knee conditions from cartilage and meniscal injury to ligament deficiency to osteoarthritis.

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the indications and surgical techniques for realignment osteotomy of the knee, including proximal tibia, distal femur and patellofemoral.
  • Describe the indications and surgical techniques for biplanar, coronal, and sagittal plane osteotomies to treat ligament instability (e.g., ACL, PCL, MCL, posterolateral corner).
  • Describe the pre-operative planning of deformity correction pertaining to the knee.
