This is webinar two of a four-part series. Please join us for this webinar series which aims to provide a greater understanding of normal and pathological states of the athlete’s hip. The Athlete's Hip webinar series will provide a complete overview of the evaluation, non-surgical treatment, and surgical correction of the athlete’s hip in all compartments: central, peripheral, peri-trochanteric and posterior. Integration of clinical expertise with the best available clinical evidence into the decision-making process for patient care will be presented to address clinical challenges relevant to everyday practice.



LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe normal and pathologic hip kinematics in the athlete’s hip
  • Describe and perform a complete physical exam, radiographic analysis, and then determine and identify non-operative and operative treatment plans
  • Describe the setup, portal placements, fluoroscopic management, and techniques for repair and resection in hip preservation surgery
  • Describe arthroscopic and open hip preservation techniques in the central compartment (labral and articular, psoas and pincer pathology), and peripheral compartment (cam and capsular pathology)
  • Describe arthroscopic and open hip preservation techniques in the peritrochanteric space and deep gluteal space
