Journal Reviewers' Workshop
2025 AOSSM Annual Meeting - Nashville, TN

Upon completion of this educational activity, learners should be able to:

Learning Objectives:

  • Provide the reviewer with suggestions for how to perform thorough, impartial reviews of manuscripts from other countries.
  • Discuss a variety of topics including research ethics, cultural sensitivity, and language difficulties
  • Additionally, the workshop will provide tips and tools to allow a non-laboratory scientist to effectively and rigorously review basic science manuscripts, and to aid the reviewer in identifying the clinical relevance for our clinician readership. We will suggest ways that a reviewer can enlist the help of colleagues with expertise in more complex laboratory methodology to aid the review process.
