Learning objectives:
- The participant should be able to define how the Impact Factor of a journal is determined and understand its applicability. Other metrics being used to evaluate a manuscript’s importance are being employed and will be discussed.
- The critical importance of the Peer Review process will be reviewed and the consequences of passing this critical step in publishing will be explained. The participant should be able to identify how to recognize predatory open access journals.
- The participant should be able to discuss how publishing agreements are changing the scientific publishing business and the impact this will have on Medical Science.
