 IC 12-2025 Sports-Specific Approach to the Athlete's Hip (CME)  

 

Course Description:

Hip injuries in athletes are being identified more and more frequently. The importance of the hip in athletic performance has also received increased interest lately.  As a result of these factors, there has been a greater focus on hip function and injury, making this area of sports medicine one of the areas of rapid growth and advancement.  The goal of this ICL is to discuss the more common injury patterns at the hip seen in different sports, their evaluation, latest management techniques, and expectations for return to sport by hip arthroscopy experts who have vast experience in caring for many collegiate, professional and Olympic athletes.  


Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. During this course, the objective is for the participants to recognize different patterns of injury common to different sports types, learn how to identify them, and state the treatment algorithm, with expectations on return to play to help with shared decision making.
