IC 102: Optimizing ACL Reconstruction in 2024: A Case-Based Approach 

Course Description:

This ICL will involve brief case presentations and dedicated time to discuss important factors that influence graft choice, the need for lateral-sided augmentation, indications for internal suture augmentation, and important considerations for postoperative rehab and return to play in a roundtable format. Those in attendance will leave with key take home points and techniques that they can implement into their practice immediately to help optimize outcomes following ACL reconstruction in their patients.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, participants should be able to: 

  • Understand the factors considered to optimize outcomes following ACL reconstruction.
  • Discuss the pros and cons of BTB, hamstring, and quadriceps autograft for ACL reconstruction.
  • Describe the indications for augmentation with ALL, LET, or internal augmentation with suture tape.
