Dr. Katherine J. Coyner, MD, MBA is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UConn Health and the Director of the Women’s Center for Motion and Performance. She is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a Subspecialty Certification in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and serves as the Director of the UConn Sports Medicine Fellowship. As a key member of UConn’s Musculoskeletal Institute and Sports Medicine Program, Dr. Coyner offers advanced treatment and surgical care for a variety of sports-related injuries and conditions affecting the shoulder, hip, and knee. She also serves as a team physician for the UConn Huskies, the National Champions.

Dr. Coyner earned her medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, and pursued a fellowship in sports medicine at Duke University Medical Center. In May 2023, she returned to her alma mater, UMass Amherst, to obtain her MBA.

Dr. Coyner has held numerous leadership positions with the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). She has served on the AOSSM Board of Directors as a Member at Large (July 2021 to July 2023) and currently holds several key appointments, including being a member of the AOSSM BOLD Advisory Team (May 2023-Present), a delegate for the AOSSM Council of Delegates for Connecticut (June 2022-July 2025), and a member of the AOSSM Emerging Leaders Committee (June 2022-July 2026).

Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Scott, MD is an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She is a sports medicine and hip preservation surgeon with focus on hip arthroscopy. She completed orthopedic residency at the University of Iowa and sports medicine fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital prior to starting clinical practice in 2022.
Dr. Joshua Harris, MD is an Associate Professor at Houston Methodist Institute for Academic Medicine, Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College, and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Texas A&M. He is Director of Research for the Orthopedic Surgery residency program at Houston Methodist. He is a consultant surgeon for the Houston Ballet, the Houston Astros, Rice University, and NASA. He is past Associate Editor for Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery. Dr. Harris completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Rush University’s Sports Medicine Program. He completed an Orthopedic Surgery residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, after graduating magna cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Wright State University in 2002, where he was an academic all-conference golfer.
