Pdf Summary
This systematic review and meta-analysis compared quadriceps tendon (QT) autografts to bone-patellar tendon-bone (BPTB) and hamstring tendon (HT) autografts for ACL reconstruction. Results showed no significant differences in graft failure or stability, but QT had lower donor site morbidity than both BPTB and HT. QT had similar outcomes to BPTB and HT in terms of graft survival and function. However, more research is needed to evaluate long-term outcomes and advantages/disadvantages of autograft options for ACL reconstruction. QT has anatomical and biomechanical benefits but further studies with longer follow-up and more RCTs are necessary.
