Video Summary
In the video, Benjamin Dome discusses the long-term survivorship and outcomes of patients who underwent capsular repair and primary hip arthroscopy for femoral asthma or impingement syndrome. The technique of capsular repair and plication was introduced in 2008 and became routine for patients of different characteristics. The study aimed to evaluate the 10-year survivorship and patient-reported outcomes after hip arthroscopy with capsular repair. It analyzed cases done between 2008 and 2011 and excluded certain criteria. The study found that there was a high rate of survivorship at 10 years and significant improvements in patient-reported outcomes. Capsular repair was also associated with greater survivorship in high-risk patients.
