Video Summary
The video discusses the results of a randomized control trial comparing an MCL augmented repair technique to a complete MCL reconstruction for grade three MCL tear patients with or without concomitant ACL injuries. The study included 54 patients from three centers and evaluated knee stability and patient-reported outcomes. The rehabilitation was the same for all patients, and both procedures showed improvement in valgus stress radiographs without significant differences between the two time points post-operatively. Patient-reported outcomes favored MCL reconstruction, but there were no major complications or MCL graph failures reported at the 12-month follow-up. The study provides clinical evidence for supporting both MCL reconstruction and augmented repair, but further research is needed to determine superiority in terms of various factors.
