Welcome to the AOSSM 2024 Annual Meeting. Please give a warm round of applause to your president, Dr. Dean Taylor. Welcome to Denver. Welcome to the AOSSM Annual Meeting. Come on, let's get it up. We have an awesome four days in store for you. I want to hear a big round of applause for our program chairs, Allison Toth and John Dickens. They've done a phenomenal job. Let's hear it. Our goal when designing this meeting was to provide an educational experience second to none. We received a record number, almost a thousand abstracts, and will present a robust research agenda too. You'll see the latest in surgical techniques and technologies. And you'll see something more, something not available really anywhere else. The chance to learn the team building and interpersonal skills to build and hone your leadership skill set as you lead sports medicine in your clinics, in your ORs, in your research labs on the field. You'll see these learning opportunities everywhere. In our general sessions, in the game changers, in the ICLs, and there's also numerous opportunities to learn from our industry partners. Sign up for the breakfast club, the lunch and learns, and catch presentations at the training center and the OLC mobile lab. Several of these activities and much, much more take place in the field house, our reimagined exhibit experience. Not only can you see the latest in surgical instruments and technology from our exhibitors, you can network with leaders and peers at the member meetups and hear live podcast recordings and win prizes in some of the great contests throughout the event. Now the AOSSM has always been a home to make new friends and reconnect with our sports medicine family members. I personally invite you to come to the opening night party tonight at the Hyde Regency, as well as our fantastic closing reception at Wings Over the Rockies, a very special venue that could only be possible in the Mile High City. To see the full schedule of sessions, field house activities, and social events, be sure to download the app. You'll see me on stage again tomorrow at 2.30 for the presidential address, immediately after the presentation of our highest honor, the Leach Award, the Leadership in Sports Medicine Award. You won't want to miss that. Begins at 2.15. And I want to give a special shout out to our Saturday afternoon game changer. One of the world's great leaders, Bob Brown, will be on stage here with me to discuss leadership and mentorship. That begins at 1.15, right after lunch. You won't want to miss that. I know it's in competition with Saturday afternoon in the Rockies, but you won't want to miss that. And now, please stand if you're able, and welcome representatives from our armed forces for the presentation of the American flag and singing of the national anthem by our very own Dr. Bruce Rider. O say can you see, by the dawn's early light, what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? Thank you. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome your chairs, Drs. Allison Toth and Jonathan Dickens. Wasn't that terrific? Let's have another round of applause for Bruce Ryder and the Denver Broncos Drumline. Well, thank you for joining us in Denver. And before we kick off our first general session, just wanted to bring up a couple of the day's highlights and a few housekeeping items. So Dr. Taylor mentioned the app. In an effort this year to have the most up-to-date information and conserve resources, you'll note that there's not a printed program. So please download the app. You can find a QR code on the back of your badge if you need to download the app. There's also a number of QR codes stationed around the venue. And finally, if you need any assistance, there is a desk right outside the Fieldhouse or the Exhibitor area. And so without further ado, I'll introduce John Dickens. All right. Well, welcome again to the 2024 AOSSM. And you'll notice some new additions. And we talked about the Fieldhouse. You're going to see some jam-packed content in the Fieldhouse, and that's starting right after this first session. Right after this, if you're a new member, join us in the new member area for a reception there. You're going to have the Bruce Ryder podcast going on there, live surgical demonstrations and the OLC lab, technology demonstrations. And if you haven't seen it already, we're looking forward to getting you on the turf and trying out your skills out there, industry training sessions all throughout the meeting. It's going to be great. It's in the first hour in there. So take advantage of that. That's today, and then tomorrow and Friday. Again, for the full program, I encourage you to download the app. That's going to be your location for where you're going to be able to interact and access live polling in the sessions, as well as ask questions. And then finally, at the end of the session today, in this session, and then in two other sessions, we have something new for you, and that's the gold medal debates. And so today you're going to hear some gold medal debates on revision ACL. That's going to be with Robin West, Volker Muschall, moderated by Armando Vidal. Later this afternoon, if you haven't seen the hype video, none other than JT Tokish and Matt Provencher are going to be debating it, debating it out on shoulder instability and complex bone loss. That's moderated by Jimmy Bailey. And then in our third session on Saturday at 2.20, we have Beth Schubensein and Latul Farrow debating patella instability. So I encourage you to make it to all of those, as well as all of the excellent content I think we have here.
